The Advantages Of Having An Energy Management System
From The Perspective Of A Small Operator
Employees and/or customers cannot tamper with the thermostats of your system. Only you can change the settings from a locked panel in the restaurant or from your computer in your home or office or by calling Technology Systems to do it, but no one else can tamper with your settings.
You can survey your system as often as you wish from your home or office computer. If you do this regularly you will often discover a problem such as a cooler or freezer out or an AC unit off before someone in the restaurant notices.
You can often analyze and diagnose your heating or cooling problems by looking at the readings of the space temperature and discharge temperature of the units from your home or office computer without even being in the restaurant. When you provide this information to your HVAC contractor it gives him a head start in getting it fixed and may even avoid costly service calls.
The system does not heat and cool your building all night when no one is there. It comes on in the morning in time for opening and goes off when you close. It can also "duty cycle" the units so that they do not all come on at one time and spike your energy demand.
If you ever have to prove in court or to your health department that your chicken (or cole slaw) cooler was in good working condition and your food was kept within food-safe temperatures, you can. (It helped me once.)
